^ Larsens tend to be better for Maggies because they are a territorial and so come into a call bird. It means you can only catch 2 at a time (by standard larsen set ups). Ladders tend to be better for Crows and rooks in my experience because there is no "capacity" to them and they tend to flock together, for instance if one or two are in the trap feeding, others will join it. I say it like that because there is, but as long as you check it every 24 hours and dispatch all but a few, it should never reach capacity. But, again, going for cost reasons, a larsen might cost less, but catch far fewer in my opinion.

yes, we made a ladder trap at school but we never got round to putting mesh on it, athough my parents house they rent out has just had its roof done and theres a load of roof lats that are unneeded they will be perfect for the frame of a ladder trap
