Cannyboy 34
Lost our Jill first within few days of showing bit of glazy eyes she was gone.....only learned of the other boys loseing theirs afterwards... Not sure if any of them had Jill's checked out.... Just wondered if anyone on here had any ideas??? I'm sure we are not the first to lose Jill through breeding and no doubt we won't be the last... Gaz_1989 9,539
I had 2 Jill's pregnant, one had 10 and one had 5, 2 from the litter of 10 died on day 1 and 1 from the litter of 5 died on day 2. Then the Jill who had 10 died on day 14. I was gutted. No symptoms. Just found her stone dead. Luckily the other Jill reared all 12 with a little help. Quote Link to post

Cannyboy 34
Same here mate only symptoms our Jill showed was glazy eyes for couple of days.. She was eating fine and drinking.. Then went in one morning and she was dead.. I just thought we was unlucky with her but since I've spoken to few boys local to us and they also lost few Jill's and kits this year with same kind of symptoms.. Quote Link to post
ferret lady 73
It's possible that the jills' symptoms were due to hypocalcemia. Have a vet run a blood calcium test ASAP and treat accordingly. Quote Link to post
