silentshot1 206 Posted July 25, 2013 Report Share Posted July 25, 2013 Met up with Andy_C tonight so that he could have a play on some PCPs and i could get my greasy mitts on hid Stage 2 tuned 97kt. Well, that gun is awesome and I really didn't want to think that! Whilst the smoothness and recoil are on a par with my 30 year old HW 77, the stock fitted far better and in .22 it was simply the dogs dangles! Even more awesome was Andy and I knew each other about 6 or 7 years ago through his girlfriend and my wife (not one and the same)! it wa great to see him again. Started out plinking at his permission and as said already, his 97 was awesome, no reall stretching in the shooting just zeroing interspersed with Andy taking a couple of potshots on a crow and a pigeon. Moved up the road 10 miles to my permission looking to hit the incredible amount of pigeons hammering the winter wheat. As sods law would have it, the majority had vanished for the day, but whilst I drove, Andy did manage to bag his first kill of the day from the car window, an awesome 35 yard shot through long grass on this massive crow: He also had a solid attempt at stalking another but it flew off just as the shot wad on. We moved on to a bunny hot spot which was desolate so move to another part of the farm where Andy made an awesome shot on a rabbit mainly hidden by tall grass and branches, sadly unrecoverable but we both know it went down. Had a really nice time and it was great to be able to meet up with a THL member and it be someone you know already, but had lost contact with, brilliant!
