Millet 4,497
I don't think you will have much luck without some type of light..as the rat's become more active after dark.. 2 Quote Link to post

Have you no bright torch, distance will only be short so a decent powered torch shouldnt be too bad. Peanut butter is what i use for bait, i always let the first rat i see eating the bait go so the rest of the rats smell the bait on the first rat and search it out, no idea if it helps more but with rats every little helps ha 1 Quote Link to post

Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
mate get well hidden about 15-25 yards away, and make sure you know your aimpoint. and stay as still as you possibly can set up a bait that wont move and try light it up very dim so you can just see the rats , could lay a torch on the floor about 10, 20 yards away from it keep the light sstill and on constant and they might come out, rather than flickering lights every 2 mins from you turning a torch on and off... see if that works. you don't need to see the full rat in 1080p color hd, just enough to see its outline so you know where its head is 1 Quote Link to post

Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
did you try what I said about laying a torch on the floor towards some bait? if you go set that up a few nights in a row and let them get used to it with out you disturbing them they might get more confident, then you can be there a few days later, and whack a few before they click on about whats going on. 1 Quote Link to post
