Fleas What Are You Chaps Using?

Recommended Posts

Only in physical traits, not in genes

Eh?

Genes are responsible for traits, I think you're a little confused.. Ferrets and the rest of the mustelidae family are physiologically and genetically more similar to dogs than cats, that is a fact.. They may look more cat like but that's as far as it goes..

Here you go, buy this book, it's cheap enough:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Velvet-Claw-Natural-Carnivores/dp/0563208449

It was recommended to me a few years back on here, and I'd in turn recommend it to anyone interested in the natural history of the carnivore and the various families which descended from common ancestors and how they are related to each other..

Why use cat products if they make them for ferrets

The only ferret flea products I've seen and used is advocate (only from vets) and beapher spot on for small animals. Not always easy to get hold of. If there are any others available then would be great to know.

Theres a reason they make different product for different animals, the cat products wont be the same as ferret products, there is a reason for that, either stop being tight and buy from the vets, i doubt it will be too expensive anyway, or use the internet

At what point did I say I didn't buy from the vets??! I get my flea products from there, problem is, that they are out of stock a lot of the time so I have to look elsewhere, usually pet shops. Some of the many brands I've used and still use is Advocate, from my vet and is £15 for two spot on pipettes. Can't buy this brand online as you need a prescription. When I found that the small animal spot on made for ferrets and rodents works just as well, I began using that instead as its £££'s cheaper and readily available from several pet shops.

P.S. there's a reason they make out that cat and ferret products are different and specially made for each species-its all about the MONEY!! surely you know that..lol
