Mole Trapping Tips Please

Hi drakesheadgunner

Well done for catching your problem mole :victory:

You do not need to weather new traps to catch moles. As I think Matt the Rat has already said.

If you are looking for a good traps supplier try the trap page on the link below

Association of professional mole catchers

There are a lot of young moles around at the moment that have left the nest and they are looking to establish their own tunnels and can sometimes be a bit harder to catch at this time of the year for anyone that hasn't had a lot of practise trapping.

If you get a main run (along side a wall or under sheep fencing etc) you can pull a lot of moles out from the same place over a week or so.

I hope this helps?

If your trapping in a feild with livestock in then it may help putting a bucket over the top just to stop then stepping or tampering with/on the trap

Brilliant! May I just ask; Plastic, or galvanised buckets? How many do you take out, on an average day? Does it matter if the " Livestock " are cattle. sheep or deer? Have you ever used this technique amongst pigs?

I've been trying to trap a mole here for years. I always thought my technique was about right. I just want to be sure (To be sure)
