do it the other way round pal...5 mince 1 biscuit.

or even better...no meal..just RAW all the way.

weigh your dog and aim for 2% of its body weight per day..so 100 Ib dog = 2 lb of meat...if its underweight add more..plus some bones to chew on.

theres a section on here for Feeding and RAW guides etc etc..Well worth a look,

you will always get the doubters and cheapskates etc etc who can feed there dog on 25p a month etc etc with some shit complete mixer that they buy off a bloke in a van at a show/meet/ greyhound tracks etc etc...

In my humble opinion you get back what you put in.

How much do you guess it costs per month for the best quality mince/bones per dog? Just out of interest as I need to buy mince for my dog but want another so need to calculate the costs...current dog is 23kg, next probably less or similar

Thanks

depends if your mincing your own or buying..and then where and what your buying. . I've been paying from 40p-60p per lb of chicken mince local to me..most places the more you buy the cheaper etc etc.

so your probably looking at around 1lb of meat a day or a bit less when the dogs not working for a 23kg dog.

but ive recently started doing my own and its 100% better than the shit ive been buying. I found everything ive bought seems to be containing a lot of water and not enough bone..? maybe thats to make up the weight a little ? and increase proffits ?

Fair comment that some dogs do on certain foods and others don't. Personally I wouldn't feed Dr John's...tried it years ago and my dogs turned into 'shit factories' within a week...never seen dogs shit like it...not healthy that...but know others who use it ans while they admit they are forever picking up shit their dogs look reasonable on it...the shepherd next door uses it and his dogs must shit at least 5-6 times when they're first let out in the mornings...

The link below is interesting...not a great review of Dr John's...

i can only describe feeding any form of kibble/dry/complete etc etc to doing the same with your ferrets..have you noticed how much more shit they produce from eating the complete shite.

I have tried all the various ways..different feeds from cheapo complete to the £60 a sack stuff and its all shite..its just convenient for the owners to use rather than feed a good wholesome RAW diet. ( sorry if I ruffle a few feathers )
