The Sporting Whippet Club N.I. will be holding their next show & race event of 2013 this coming Sunday .......see details below:

Whippet Show & Race Day (Pure bred whippets only)

Sunday 2nd June , 2013 @ 12 0’clock mid-day.

... DUNSILLY KENNELS, Milltown Road, Antrim. BT41 2JJ

 

Admittance - £ 2.00 Per Adult, Children Free - Show Classes & Racing all £2.00 per entry

(A catering van will be in attendance at the show)

- Signing in for racing between 12 - 12.30 pm, no late entries will be taken –

 

* ALL DOGS TO BE TAKEN UP TO THE TENT WHEN BEING BOOKED IN FOR THE RACING*

- All dogs racing at this event MUST be muzzled !!

- Grading for the racing at approximately 12.45pm, followed by the show classes as follows:

1. Children's Handling
2. Whippet Pup (all whippets under 1 year old)
3. Whippet Dog
4. Whippet Bitch
5. Working Whippet
6. Veteran Whippet (for whippets 6 years of age or older)
7. BEST IN SHOW (Unbeaten dogs from classes 2,3,4,5 & 6)
8. Members Class (free entry for fully paid up members showing dogs previously

shown in classes 2- 6, but unplaced)

- Race heats and finals to continue after the showing.

Like wise. always a nice chilled atmosphere with a bit of craic thrown in. And with luck that big round thing in the sky might shine on us and I can get a bit of colour on my cheeks

The racing and showing at the Sporting Whippet Club are for pure bred whippets only, if you have KC reg papers it shouldn't be a problem to produce them although at this moment in time the club does not insist on them. However, the club reseerves the right to refuse entry to any dog that is of questionable breeding, this could be when the dog in question does not display breed characteristics or if reg papers have been produced and the dog in question does not match the details on the papers.

Agreed! After I seen them myself, they look like they could do with a bit of colour and an iron as well .Get the wrinkles and dimples out of them

As I said in my previous post, it is for PURE BRED whippets only, whippets are a breed, not a type, hence the committee resererve the right to refuse entry to any animal they do not believe to be a pure bred whippet, whether it has papers or not, and height does not come into it, as most pure bred whippets conform to the breed standard regarding height. Do you have a whippet yourself?
