Got Fed Up Again!

Recommended Posts

My hunting knife keeps getting appropriated for various odds and sods in the kitchen. I would not mind but when you come to sit down and do a quiet spot of rabbit gutting when out in the field, the fact that your knife is lurking somewhere in the food preparation area is a bit of a damned bind.

Local auction had a few knives going in the latest sale, so I stuck a bid in on a few Hultafors Survival Knives, 5 green and one orange handled. The shop that was selling them had £15 per knife on the green ones and £10 per knife on the orange. Picked up the lot for under £52, Now 2 have instantly been commandeered for the kitchen (5 left) and 1 for the caravan. Leaves me 4 and I have not even been able to get out yet!

So what? I have knives to test but not the opportunity to get out and test them (flu, real flu, damned awful if you have type 1 diabetes). Roger, there are others on here, like Archie, who are also accomplished Graham spotters!

I'm with you on type1.

The Mora Clipper is a superb knife, picked one up for a tenner at a game fair, they are very sharp, keep an edge well and get pinched at the earliest opportunity by blasted home chefs.... When I do get my hands back on it, it is a superb knife to use. I might have one of these Hultafors left by the end of the week so that I can use it. They are high carbon steel survival knives, not the sharpest out of the box, but a good keen edge, that with the extra carbon should last a while!
