francolin 449
had a poor start this season, only one sitting tight on 5,one pair that did real well last year have just laid second egg, another pair built laid second egg then the hen lost all interest in the nest/eggs for no apparent reason,so that got chucked, and that hen as rebuilt,no health probs just seem late getting to breeding condition, called at a lads yesterday his cock birds were bouncing fit but his hens seemed behind condition wise, anybody else noticed this with there birds. Clipper 207
This week i lost 4 full greenie eggs(due to hatch today),4 full siskin eggs and have had a greenie hen jump off 3 other eggs all due to the greenie cock i have .I have a couple of canaries down on eggs, some mules some pure's and there to far gone to put the greenie eggs i saved under so there for the bin as well really. My goldies are building but the chaffies and bullies haven't even started to look in condition and to be honest i'm looking to having the worse year yet with birds,i know it's early still but i do know this weather has messed my birds up big time with there season. are any of your redpolls doing anything yet fireman

Millet 4,497
That's the shit's Fireman.. .. is the Greenie Cock the egg theif mate.. ..but beside's all that bad luck some good must come of it soon.. .. I have not noticed any nest's yet from my Goldies and Redpoll's but my 2 greenie hen's have built a cracking natural nest each and started laying egg's in them..the cock bird also helped this time so i'm sure he will be treading the hen's...i hope so this time because i'm not going to candle anymore egg's incase a smash anymore.. ..my only concern is this crappy weather as we are meant to be getting more gale force wind's and sleet..
