WILF 49,984
imagine how the liverpool fans feel that they cant even beat a small club like west ham at home,,,,,,,,,,,, Don't confuse having history with being a big club, Liverpool are no longer a big club. They are like any other mid table club now. Once upon a time, Liverpool or Manchester would have been first on the list of any prospective player wanting to play top flight football but now it's Unt, City, Arsenal or Chelsea and that's it.......even Arsenal are slipping IMHO

Astanley 11,634
The clubs that I consider to be "big " clubs will always be big clubs , even relegation wouldn,t change that , they,d just be a big club having a hard time .That saying about players , "form is temporary , class is permanent " could be applied to clubs aswell .

If being well supported and having history makes you a big club mate, then we are a massive club.......but to me it's not the same thing. Newcastle are a well supported club, but a big club?.....nah Being a big club to me means being there in all the major comps, year after year and being serious contenders........Liverpool hasn't been that club for a while. They rested on their laurels, over played their best players to burn out and thought history alone would be enough to keep them in the lofty heights.......not happened mate. They are no more a danger than Tottenham ( yuk, I had to type the word) or any other mid tale club.
baw 4,360
fair play then gnash but seriously if its allardyce with limited funds or mourinho with a few quid under his belt you would go to leyton??? i no exactly where your coming from mate............you would rather this team won on effort rather than stevie g doing only what stevie g can.......... and i agree mate games between the two teams should be like the one above and not the bore draw at anfield!! BUT thats the past and if were realistic both teams are shite at min lol im not saying i no west ham fans as good as you mate but surely a few quid under a good manager aint a bad thing!! if you had the choice of jose or paulo, who would you choose??? Its not quite sinking in is it ............Id have Dicanio tomorrow..........i wouldnt want Jose ever................some things are about more than just football........look,without it sounding muggy.....if i wanted to i could go and watch Man Utd win football matches every week and pick up trophies every year....does that make me a Man Utd supporter no of course it doesnt..........when your from this area you dont choose who you support.....you just are ! And by the way........as much as i admire that Gerrard performance....and as much as it devastated me at the time.................for me that goal was tainted !......We had just sportingly put the ball out because of an injury and instead of returning it they f****d off up the other end and scored.............i suppose sportsmanship go,s out the window in the 90th minute of a cup final..................but it still didnt sit right with me. Did dicanio not refuse to play away games?

Ive been to St James,s Park many times mate you,ve only got to be in or around the ground or even the City itself to know Newcastle are a big club.... By your reckoning there can only really be 1 or 2 big clubs in every country.....look at Germany,Schalke are a huge club but havent won anything in years. You cant really judge how big a club is based on their success......again,Arsenal are a massive club but have won nothing for years. You need to stop this right now Wilf ...of all the days !! Im getting set to go down to Southampton today......ive got Millwall mates getting set to go to Wembley today !!...........Please dont terrify me with the assumption Millwall are bigger than West Ham i just couldnt take that.....not today Edited April 13, 2013 by gnasher16
