Gaz_1989 9,539
My mate is coming at the weekend to do me the block work properly. They are just stacked temporarily at the moment. It will be 6' x 6' and 3 blocks high. I've got a 18" x 10" plastic box with a lid and a hole in for the bed, raised 2" off the ground. And I'm going to put some pipe work in there running along the wall. Quote Link to post
AirgunGuy 362
Looks good mate but you might find that they'll be able to climb over it with the claws they have. Mine have climbed block. Just a thought Quote Link to post
GreyRake 108
Good point, there's a video of a ferret climbing a brick wall on YouTube I'm sure. Might have to have a bit of an over hand then screw a plastic sheet into the brick wall. Quote Link to post
Guest thebigdog
if climbing is a problem, line the inside of the box with pvc sheeting or the like, or tile maybe. Quote Link to post
TOMO 29,420
Is there a drain hole to hose it down? Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
I've got Perspex sheeting on order for the bottom 2 foot And there's not a drain no. I've never hosed down my hutches or courts before. Just cleaned with spray disinfectant. Quote Link to post
jamesmc 582
rabbit punch bag? ... 2 Quote Link to post
TOMO 29,420
Chip a section of the block work out so you can hose it down only needs to be an inch or so high and a few inches long,,, it means you can disinfect and scrub with a yard brush,,, then hose it out the slot you have cut ,,,,as you would with a dog run. 2 Quote Link to post

I know what your saying. But it's in the garage. And there isn't a drain in the garage so would have nowhere for the water to go? Quote Link to post
Guest norseman
climbing will deff be a problem lol i know my hob can jump on top of a stool in the garage and it aint that small either. its a simple but very good idea by the way looking forward to the finished job. Quote Link to post
AirgunGuy 362
You could get a plasterer or your bricklayer to put a smooth render on the block which would give a smoothish finish to it and would hopefully stop them from climbing over it. Probably best to get some mesh or something cut to the size of the roof area and hold it down with a couple of bricks Quote Link to post

Can't you just hose it out the door ?,,, I use a rubber scraper,, a bit like a large windscreen wiper,,, on a broom handle,,, when I hose out our outhouse Quote Link to post
