mad al 146
I lived on a farm that fronted a main road before I moved here and always cleaned up any mess I made after hedge cutting etc., never thought it wasn't my responsibility
Blackbriar 8,569
Round our way the landowners are really good at clearing up after hedgecutting and ditch clearing. I fing the worst offenders are building sites and the idiots who dig the roads up.....'king mess they leave behind !!!

B.P.R 2,798
Correct me if im wrong.. But in germany... It is the house owners/occupiers responsibility to look after the path outside their house. So if somebody slips on ice.....they can sue the homeowner.
B.P.R 2,798
Yep. I was correct.. "German residents, in common with those in Switzerland, Austria and the Netherlands, have a legal duty to keep the pavements outside their homes free of snow in fact, in Germany, the duty extends to half the width of the road aswell" Seems this is law in other countries too Hedge trimmings and shitte YES. BUT SNOW http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2098008/Should-fined-dont-clear-snow-path-outside-house.html EDITED... Seems the laws says 'if you leave the snow and somebody slips...its ok... If you clear the snow/put grit down and somebody slips....you are liable In 2010, 68-year-old Michael Pepper of Bar Hill, Cambridgeshire, rang his county council to ask if it would be all right if he spread grit (usually rock salt, which lowers the freezing point of water and thus melts ice) from a council salt bin onto his frozen street. He was warned he could be sued if someone slipped and was advised to take out public liability insurance. A local insurance broker quoted him a policy of £500 a year. Edited March 19, 2013 by Blue Pocket Rocket

I don't even bother washing my car because the first time I go out in it anywhere after, by the time I come back its like I've been ploughing the fecking fields in it, especially this last 12 months with the fields being so fecking wet and the heavy machinery in and out of them all day.. I know they've got a job to do and all but it pisses me off..

mad al 146
I'm showing my age here, but when I was a kid MANY moons ago , all landowners/farmers could be seen trashing the hedgerows along the roads by hand with a trashing hook and clearing up after them and wherever livestock/machines messed the roads, they would come along with a shovel and a hard bristle yard brush and clean it up In those days "goretex" = a hessian sack over your shoulders
