Hob&Jill 258
Just got a new Hob and he appears to sneeze quite alot, and today just noticed that his nose it running slightly. I have only noticed it when I take him in the living room for a run around every night, could it be something that his nose is picking up? allergy? To be honest I doubt it, It looks like a cold to me (ferrets are suseptable to the common cold, arnt they?) If it is a cold what can be done about it? If its dosent sound like that, any pointers? Thanks alot, H&J Quote Link to post

ferret15 0
i hope hes ok i expect it is just a cold give him an extra blanket and make sure hes still drinking if he dose need to see a vet i will come and get him and take him to the vet. if he is sick he came to me with it but i gave him to you beliving him to be 100% and i do not want you to have to deal with any problems this ferret could have. please let me know how he gets on marie edited to say if i have a cold and come into a nice warm house it makes my nose run found this COLDS Like us, ferrets can catch colds. A ferret can even catch a cold from ourselves, the symptoms being the same as ours; runny nose, sneezing and even running a temperature. Keep your ferret warm and its bedding dry. If his health deteriorates, take him to a vet. Edited July 26, 2007 by ferret15 Quote Link to post

Hob&Jill 258
What bedding are you using for them? He has a thick layer of shredded paper and a old pillow case. Changed weekly, all good and warm. He is on his own at the moment, as he is in season and mounting the Jills. He seems fine about himself, running about etc dosent come across as under the weather. No worries that discounts my theory. Hay, straw and wood shaving can irritate their nasal passages with tiny bit getting stuck up them andgiving cold like symptoms, sneezing, runny nose etc etc Quote Link to post
