wuyang 513
My collie/greyhound had an abscess on her top gum, made under her eye and face swell. Had to be drained, and a couple of teeth out as well, she was 9/10 years at the time. Put to sleep seems a bit dramatic. You could tell she was in pain after the operation even though she was on pain killers etc, it really did take it out of her, but the vet had no concerns, just routine to them. Anyway she was as good as new not long after. Can't see him being too old for anaesthetic I'm sure he'll be fine, keep us posted Edited February 21, 2013 by wuyang Quote Link to post

digginit 0
vets will give you advice on the best options but the choice should still be yours its your cash and your dog dont let them push you into something you dont want 8 years is nothing if the dog is generally fit hope all goes well Quote Link to post
skycat 6,174
I don't see how putting a dog down could be seen as being 'out for the money' as it would cost a lot less to have a dog put down than to operate on it. Just trying to make sense of what you said. Alternatively, maybe the dog has an underlying condition which would make surgery dangerous: heart problem? Just wondering. Quote Link to post
fay 75
well was at the vet yesterday they said they will take him in on monday get a biopsy done take the blood tests and xray then operate and try remove as much of the tumor thats what they said so then when the biopsy comes back ill no if it was cancerous or not everyting was good they said except this all in all the price was great 76 euro for the biopsy 15 euro for the blood test and 78.60 to remove the lump and the xray cant complain happy with that and the medication is included fingers crossed still dont trust some of them tho but cant complain with that Quote Link to post
