kruby01 114
well what a trip! went out for 3 hours to a permission where there isnt usually much about maybe a rabbit or two and a few roosting woodies. as soon as i turned up there was a rabbit waayyyy out of range. i gave the stalk a shot but had no chance as there was a security light behind me casting a shadow. carried on for £ hours and didnt see a thing so decided to pack up and head home. just as i got to the gates a pigeon flew out the tree and scared the shit out of me while the rifle was in the bag!! i could of thrown the f***ing thing at it i was pissed off! quarry really seems to be scarce at the moment! j j m 6,625
there might of been a fox doing the rounds before you turned up mate,we all get nights like that at times Quote Link to post
kruby01 114
ive not seen much evidence of foxes on that land to be honest, i know there are 2 buzzards about most days which doesnt help. the annoying thing is the farmer says they see rabbits everywhere all the time, whenever i go i only see 1 or 2 about on that land yet another land i have about 5 miles away you literally stand on them in the summer and there is foxes there, i suspect there is badgers too and also another two buzzards. that farm is tiny aswell Quote Link to post
Joolz 1
Yes I went out last night for the second time since Chrimbo. The first time I got 100 yds from the car and the heavens opened, I drew stumps disappointed as had thought it was too windy to rain. Last night I was on a rabbit over run permission that is acres of apple orchard. Saw three jumpy rabbits and missed the only one in range. Not one single rat. Everywhere is saturated so I suppose the vermin has more sense than air-gunners! 1 Quote Link to post
