Went today for a wee run, good set up going, decent lads and a few runs for the dogs, weather held up too,

Was a good crack and a fun day out looking forward to the rest of the weeks to cum.

And the lads seem a good bunch....

 

But it was a pretty short day?...think the first run was around 12 ish....and was done and dusted for 1.45.

 

Was plenty left in the tank from my dogs...as im sure was others.

 

Just could have done with being a little longer....and a quicker turn around.

seeing as lurcher guys are starting to come to kirkcaldy club

 

is the whippet club going to support them on the racing for the kirkcaldy lurcher show???? can u find out bill

Im not sure if this will be a regular thing for us...

 

Im happy to travel most weekends over the summer up to kircaldy....

 

Just thought maybe there could be a few tweaks to how it was done...

 

I dont understand the non ped, speed junkie owners but it takes an awful long time to walk the length of the track, put the dogs in the traps...then walk back down...before they run.

 

Could somebody not put the dogs in the traps for them?...

 

I understand this may be how its done? A ritual of some sort...

 

If so...what about a time when the non peds / the serious racers can do their stuff.... and a time for the lurchers / fun runs?

 

So lets say 11.30 - 1.30 lurchers....and 1.30 - the speed freaks?...just a suggestion...

 

Also maybe the next runners take the lure back up the track?

 

It gets a bit drawn out waiting 50 minutes for a run..

 

Just a few things that would mean people would keep coming back...week after week....
