rob190364 2,594
same over here, if I take my dog out to the local woods this time of year I can literally go for days on end with out seeing anyone, come a bit of sunshine and there will be dozens of people everywhere, proper winds me up! there must be millions of dogs bored out of their minds during the whole of winter in this country. If you live in a country where the weather is iff 90% of the time, and you don't like iffy weather, I seriously can't get my head around why you would get a dog?? I used to know someone who's idea of taking their dog out was to drive on a car park after the shop has closed, let the dog out of the boot and sit in the car for 5 minutes while it does its business, and then let it back in the car and drive off......GET A CAT!!! much prefer winter for taking the dog out, no retards and no flies, can't beat it! Ratreeper 441
I only see the same few people these days, always people with working labs or springers as it happens as since everything got flooded no-one else seems to be arsed to don some wellies and put on a coat. Ironically though I wish I saw a few more people sometimes so my dog gets a chance to socialise on a regular basis as I think it's good for him to get a chance to play and meet other dogs as often as possible. But if I see anyone with theirs on a lead I always put him on and it's baffling why others wouldn't. I can easily get away from them though as they all stick to the few flat fields and are too lazy to go up a steep hill to the gorse and woodlands where we go. Something else that has caught my notice (like when you get a new car then see them everywhere) is that I adopted a staffy as 9/10 dogs at the rescue were a staffy, yet I haven't seen a SINGLE other staffy since I got him. I can only conclude that most people with staffies don't walk them and they get rid of them 9X more often than other dog owners, not really breaking news but it is weird isn't it.
