Best Way To Hunt Pheasant With An Air Rifle For Pest Control On Crops

Recommended Posts

Well it's like putting carrots out to get rid of rabbits mate. Lol

Go early morning at first light and you will see where they are coming off roost and heading for the crop. You could also put out catchers with wheat in to catch numbers.

bait, then waiting game, build some sort of hide then put out corn or peas, head shots if 12 ft/lbs but the head is not static for long, tend to try and hit the spine at base of neck myself then quick second shot through the brain

If you don't want to bait the area for a while and wait it out, I would personally just walk the edges of the woods/hedges at first light or evening and get them as they are roosting. But surely if they are a pest to the spuds you will see them in the fields? So if the first ideas don't work then just stalk them if you can, good luck.

Cheers for all the info guys, think I'm a bit premature on the subject because there are not a lot around at the moment because the covers are still on the royals so there is no food for them so they are in different fields, going to go out early next week and see if I can find the roost
