Polishing A Turd.......

Recommended Posts

Well in Andy. I'm surprised the turd would even polish. More like smear and leave an awful mess.

Joking aside, one thing that has suprised me with this unfinished turd is the quality of all the fixings and materials. There was swarf and all sorts of crap in the gun but the steel that's made all of the rubbish is all good stuff. Properly hardened screws and pins and decent quality pressings. Just a shame the thing's been thrown together in such a shiity way.

Maybe they're not all like this, I don't know but if they ever get their quality control sorted they may even make a decent gun one day.....

Cheers, Simon.

I've not been able to use Paul's workshop yet but I've made a start stripping your 97 at home. Give me a call when you can and I'll give you the run down on what I've broke so far. It's going to need a shed load of work mate. It has a worn groove inside. deep enough to lay a pipeline in.

The piston looks like an old 1940's tractor that's just been dug up after being run over the edge of a quarry.

There is some serious rust and pitting. It looks like the surface of mars. What have you been lubricating it with? Bog water?

Oh! I couldn't release the end cap easily so I hit it with a hammer and bent the body a bit. It's ok though. It should hammer back and it's only marked the metal work a tad.

I'm not even going to mention the stock. Sorry mate but its all bad news.

Cheers.

How you didn't want andys message to read Simon. Lol
