Lamping In The Snow

Recommended Posts

I been out fairly locally every night since we got a decent covering on friday and had some reasonable enough results. As lucky said dont bother with a light.

Stick to small country lanes dogs on leads later on at night, preferably that have been ploughed/gritted so they dont make any noise, just look out for the silouettes out in the fields they stand out very clearly especially with some moon out, the dogs can see stuff easy enough.

ok to keep dogs fit if you walk with no lamp Been out a few times in snow on land i know well get a few races but no good if you are out for a serious night and will ruin your good land so stay clear of your favourit spots not worth making everything lamp shy

Not sure how it will make stuff lamp shy when not using a lamp!?

Ok thanks guys and thanks for making me realise I asked a stupid question. I am new to all the lamping and lurcher work so I'm learning as I go. Thanks all

Not a stupid question mate,

you can go out in any conditions and have a good night. I like the snow with the dogs at night, its just a different approach and because you dont need to lamp you dont attract attention as much. I have never had an injury because of the snow or something buried in it although obviously the dogs are more likely to be injured than if they stay in their kennels...

If you were to stay in on every night that isnt perfect lamping conditions you would probably get about 5 nights a year.

white painting suit????? can i ask why, did you think it would give you camaflouge? rabbits use other senses before eyesight to detect trouble...but i suppose you've realised that now...lol

better than walking about in realtree and stiking out like a sore thumb in middle of a white field
