Thought some of you on here might like this clip, as I've been surfing YouTube , it's been on the dog section befor,,, you see them putting a string cope/muzel on there ferrets,,, whilst that's not my thing, you can see how well handled the ferrets are as there very calm ,,, and just check out the rock the dogs are running on,,, old lava from the volcano

Where is that Tomo, Timanfiya? I've been to Lanzarote, you wouldn't think rabbits could survive in that harsh landscape with so little vegetation. Just goes to show what fantastic little survivors they are, they deserve more respect for it IMO..

I don't know exactly where on lanzarote,, but it's only a small island. As you say it's ruff old terrain. I know in Ibiza they live in the walls,, there's lots of terraced fields, so they live in the cracks

I was there 2 years ago and asked a few of the locals about hunting and all mentioned shooting birds but nobody mentioned ferreting ..... Shame I could have maybe had a day out .... Ferreting in flip flops and shorts ... Now that's would be something ..........

Plus I dowt there any preditors,, I dowt they have stoats or foxes,,, mind I suppose they could still encounter a rat,, although why any rat would live out there,,, there's hardly any vegetation for the rabbits

The Podenco Hounds are handy little rabbit dogs. Loads of them there and all over Spain. I think the muzzles are necessary as killing underground on that land would result in a lost ferret for sure. Mind you, knowing the Spanish, it wouldn't surprise me if they took a Kango drill with them. :tongue2:
