fatjack 4 Posted December 28, 2012 Report Share Posted December 28, 2012 I am young and wanting to start diggin but am confused on size some apparent earth dogs look pretty big whilst others are small my sis has a jrt which stands about8/9inchrs to the shoulder but is that too small?? rob284 1,682 Posted December 28, 2012 Report Share Posted December 28, 2012 size isnt really height. when to ground a dog tucks its legs in, length of legs isnt a problem. its the size of the dogs chest that matters. put your hands round the back of its front legs and make a cirle with your thumbs touching, if your fingers touch aswell it is ideal for earth work. if you cant, the dog may struggle. when underground size doesnt matter too much because the dog isnt usually on its feet.
