graham4877 1,181
nice work! do you not worry about it hitting one of them girders though? You can't wrap them up in cotton wool Rob,no its not ideal for dogs especially for Whippets but hey ho sometimes you have to make the best of the job at hand with the tools you have IMO? very true mate, I used to pick and choose my runs with last dog, at first, then I just let her get on with it.. and out of all the places she could of died, it was in the field right out side my house where she new very very well, lost her foot on a little rock sticking out ground and tripped and snapped her neck.... I know what you're saying, and I've heard a few stories about dogs killing themselves in the most unlikely of places......but it'd be like running them on a field that runs alongside a motorway, or near the edge of a cliff, you can take reasonable precautions without wrapping them in cotton wool. To be honest though, apart from the girders the place on those pics isn't what I view as a scrapyard...I'm imagining scrap cars piled up, rusty metal etc. That's mainly log piles by the look of it, I wouldn't have a problem running my dog around them. Fair comment pal, and yes sometimes my heart is in my mouth, but shes a working dog, and i give her what she was born and bred to do, she chooses to go up into those piles, she aint forced, and shes wise, same with golf courses, best way to kill a dog was the comment on here yesterday, and to that comment, i say, stick to your treadmills and plastic bags, and let the real dog men get on with it Quote Link to post
