bryanm45 787
Did a few hour this morning for a gamekeeper in a wooded area next to the pheasant feeders and all the warrens where full of rats, there was a few indications that rat holes where present but the rats were in the rabbit warrens, what I want to know is will the rats drive the rabbits out, as you can guess my ferts had a tuff morning. bryanm45 787
My Whipp has never worked to rat before she got two and I lifted up me skirt and ran cant stand the things, she got them clean with no marks on her, may suggest he gets some terriers there with a smoker he must be loosing a lot of grain to them, you can see the runs from the holes to the feeders. bryanm45 787
Would the rats keep the rabbits away, as they were in the warrens Quote Link to post
The one 8,593
seen therm sharing warrens before makes you a bit careful when your sticking your hand in a dead end Quote Link to post
Mick C. 229
not big on ferreting where there is a large rat problem. Bolted rabbit and rat out of the same burrows. In your case sounds like the rats have multiplied and taken over. Is there knowhere else on the shoot where you could have a crack at the bunnys. Preferably away from feeding areas Quote Link to post
bryanm45 787
Yes Im doing a few fields for him at the moment which last year were quite productive, but to get a shot a the best bits I have to do the shit bits to keep them clear, he's a very hands on gamekeeper, but as they say its not a job but a way of life, and he lives it 24/7. fieldsportsman 107
ask to either sit there with an air rifle for couple of hours, or a terrier with smokers. you may have to wait untill the shooting season has ended tho Quote Link to post
fieldsportsman 107
or trap the area Quote Link to post
