the_stig 6,614
i went to massarellas once, what a f****n eye opener, mega business. Your offer of young birds christian, i dont think ppl realise the bloodlines in these birds, they are the real deal. I hope they go for a good price and to someone who will use them in the loft to great effect. had my first van hees from masses -- and 6 louella snowballs for quid in 1978 i thinks the snowballs where kirkpatrick alf baker lines ,,, they where shite 5 made compost one kept coming as a yearling and won fraserburgh club and fed the yearling cup lost it next time out the van hees won me the mid week and thurs champs but never did distance .. Bootsha 1,306
I had an alf baker cock come into my loft once and a donaldson of dunbar mealy hen, transferred them to me, bred them, they produced a red cheq cock that flew every race as well as thurso, won me the thurso cup, and mostly the old bird scottish averages on his own lol. you got to try a strapper now and again lol

fireman 11,579
Well i've just been and knocked the local village pigeon keepers door and told him about this auction and he's taking all the details to the local bird club tomorrow to see if anyone would like me to bid on their behalf as these birds have no where near reached the money there worth. So anyone with pigeon keepers near them should do the same and lets get some proper cash for a good cause .
