bullit666 5
Just wondered if anyone has had an air gun seized by customs for power testing.? Want to know if it was tested out of the box or if they modify adjust it. Any info would be nice Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,913
They test them out the box, just like police test them the way they went in with no adjustments Quote Link to post

BEARINATOR 2,913
At 10 foot pounds it will be safe with what ever pellets they put through it Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
As far as I am aware, customs and excise can not test the gun's, they have to involve the Police Firearms department who in turn call in the services of the forensic sciences department. If it's running at 10ft/lbs max Bearinator is correct, it's not going to get close to the legal limit. Tony 1 Quote Link to post

bullit666 5
Hahaha. Yeah its detune. And yeah it goes off to an independent forensic lab for muzzle energy testing. Just making sure they test as is and not messing around with it. Quote Link to post
Baghdadnights 150
As long as there is no easy adjustment to vary the power should be fine. Only saying as a mate bought a stealth from the states that had a power wheel fitted fortunately for him the locking grub screw had fallen out so wherever the set the power wheel from min to max it only put out 8ftlb All above board and on his fac now anyway Quote Link to post

bullit666 5
yeah..im glad you didnt think it was on you.. regards to the power on a marauder the is no errr power switch. you'd have to take a dirty big bolt out to adjust hammer spring pre load and striker. stock off a screws out for valve adjustment...... so not too easy Quote Link to post
donnyc 1,203
They test them out the box, just like police test them the way they went in with no adjustments Not always ..Have a copy of a test that was done on a PCP the official testing it ,made several adjustments getting it over the limit..Written evidence in the court states the tester saying he would do all he could to get the power up..This was in a high court and was deemed OK ..Not saying all tests would go that far but in this case it did 1 Quote Link to post
bullit666 5
Yeah donning I read this. But in this case I think the guy was tuning up peoples pcps to over 12ftlb. I think he did some shadey stuff so they hauled him over the coals. My flo seemed to think it would be alright. So im just gonn.a stay positive Quote Link to post

bullit666 5
Hmmm. Got the results today and customs tell me 10the shots out of 24the went over 12ftlb. Not exactly what I thought was going to happen. They might be giving me the opportunity to hold the rifle until my section 1 gets cleared (up 10 weeks in my area). They exporter says they 100% confirm that there was no possible way of it being over. But,,,clearly not. So ill wait and see what customs say and them rinse the exporter if it gets destroyed Quote Link to post
