Ratting mag

I have now settled on using x6 for most of my shooting including close range ratting. What do you guys use when Ratty is the target?

standard 4.5 x mag fitted to the Pulsar N550, But if i wanted can get a 2 x Mag doubler for extra long range,

But to be honest i only shoot the Pulsar out to 50 yards anyway so not needed yet.

i use x4,x8, x10 depending on distance,and whether my scopecam is playing up

I've used everything from Pistol Muzzle against snotter of Ratty to 10x mag under the lamp with rifle

Because i use .177 i find x6 lets me get the clear kill zone shot right in the brain yet a wide enough field of view.

And given that statement you have answered your own question

 

Some of us prefer one over the other, just like calibre selection

If you are more comfotable with this you are sorted

Oh im well happy with my choice, just interested in what others used.

i normally use 6x

lol a 10-50x60 proved very usefull with a nato ret (on 10x) but i had to step back a few times..the ret seemed to just fit the rat in where ever it was.

 

i've used 2.5, 3, 4, 6, (tried the 5 a while didnt like it) and 9x quite a lot..but the feild of veiw is limited on 9x.
