donnyc 1,203
The different types, makes, and models of guns that take gas rams is very large now ..Theoben only stocked a small selection and they were very overpriced..The range is massive now including stoegers hatsans Edgar bros etc etc..Brand new rams direct from AWT will now be produced and REPRICED to virtually half the old theoben prices ..Customised rams made as well .. If you need info contact me .. 1 Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
I've had a few AWT rams for myself and friend's guns and they've always been spot on. Good to hear they're still made by the same (I hope...) UK company too. Recomended Quote Link to post

j j m 6,626
the best one i owned years ago was the theoben fenman in 22 Quote Link to post
Acuspell 329
I don't thik Theoben were over priced actually. Recently they have been expensive due to the import of parts machined in the USA that could have been made here for 1/3rd of the price - but the new owner moved all the machining to America and just starved Theoben UK into submission. Theobens since 2006 aren't real Theobens anyway. Proper Theobens were very well built and very competitively riced. I have a Scirocco Grand Prix from 1985 and it is still posting 30 yard, one hole groups with no more than a bit of a top up ONCEin its life because it dropped to 10.6 ft-lbs. It runs really happily at 11.5 - 11.6. 26 years of flawless service makes it a very economic and good value for money rifle. That is why I have four others: Taunus in .20 SLR98 in .22 Olympus in .177 (now sold for the princely sum of £600 ) Rapid in .20 Theobens are fabulous rifles. Where an HW might be a BMW M-series the Theoben is an Aston Martin. Interesting about the back fill regulato for the Rapid, but my curve is flat enough that I don't need a reg and when a rifle is working well -LEAVE WELL ALONE!
