mikeball 108
Well had some very bad news about my birch today. She's been the vets to have her stitches out and to have a xray to see how her foot was healing. Turns out her foot is now twisted and will never run again vet said more than a 5 min walk a day for the rest off her life. Any sudden burst of pressure on her foot will pop the tendon back open and if a human had done the same to the evierlant tendon they would never walk again. I'm abuserlutely gutted. Sh*t that mate really sorry to hear ,are you going to keep her ? I will keep her for the next year to be sure that she can't run. If she still defo can't run I will see if my mum will have her at hers for a pet home if my mum wont have I'll have her pts cause I don't want some knob have her who will just run her even tho I said she can't or people using her for a pup spiter Cheers mike Defo the right thing mate , have you not thought about lurcher link , they find good homes for the dogs and are sure that they get the treatment they require it's a canny place Atb mate tbh mate I havnt really thought about any rescues :-) Yeah lurcher link is canny , they find homes that suit the dog and only give them to people who they have checked fully ,anyway your doing the right thing by looking out for her Atb mate :-) Quote Link to post

skycat 6,174
Is meek a vet? No. He is a canine osteopath: different thing altogether, though he knows a lot about tendon injuries. On a different note, I've seen plenty of dogs carry on running with a flat toe and never have a problem, especially if its a hind foot. Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
Penny, Im out with Mike quite a bit. Looking at that photo of the bad foot do you think its possible for the dog to run normally again assuming the tendon heals correctly? Thanks. Quote Link to post
