If anyone would like to donate anything as a prize, all donations will be gratefully received as we would like to raise as much as we can for this very worthy cause in Eddie's memory. **

We are hoping to have someone from both of these charities/organisations present on the day to receive their cheques from the club

Copied from post by Chairperson Of Sporting Whippet Club N.I. :

The SWC will run it's final race and show day of the 2012 season this coming Sunday at Dunsilly Kennels, Antrim. During the course of this years terrier, lurcher and whippet shows, a lot of accusations, allegations and in some cases downright slander, has taken place, played out for all to see on various forums.

In going forward, our club will be considering it's options, the outcome to be decided...

at our AGM early next year. In looking at those options the committee have asked me to post this, asking for anyone who intends racing at future club events to bring KC papers with them this Sunday if they have them for their dogs. This will not affect any racing on Sunday, but it will give us some idea of how many registered dogs there are out there.

Just to clarify, KC papers are either English or Irish Kennel club registration papers, not a pedigree sheet.

its easy enough to get kc papers are yous going to anything else to stop all the cheating ? and we know its all the same few doing it each year

It may be easy to get KC papers, but they have to match the dog, anybody that knows anything about KC lines should have a good idea if papers are genuine or not.

Our club are only weighing up all options, and whatever we do as a club we can't stop anybody racing anywhere else! It's not up to us to sort out other shows problems, we have put a lot of hard work into our own club and some of us feel it's time to take it a bit further. How we do this is up to the members at the end of the day, time will tell!!

There are a lot of fake pedigrees with show dogs, its very easy to forged papers and lot of full GH that ware not registered some claiming to be lurchers, people asking for or offering dna tests, what tango is doing at his show will put a big stop to the cheaters and people with full GH

The Keep er Lit Dog Show and Raceday Sunday 20th July 2025
Doagh Equestrian is situated on the beautiful Antrim coast in the village of Doagh, Co Antrim. This was a new venue for the “Keep er Lit” Dog show and Race day and the ideal spot for   last Sundays Show.
From early morning, cars and trailers arrived from North and South of the border. Some people came as far away as Limerick and Drogheda with families and dogs in tow. Our good canine folk love a good dog show in the summer and a chat with like minded people. They certainly were not disappointed at the Keep er Lit show.
As the show progressed, so did the banter and the craic. The rings were well spaced out with a good long race track. Paul Boyd was there with his country sports stand, with everything needed in the hunting fraternity.
Some very tasty burgers were available on site and an Equestrian shop with great discounts on offer on the day. I had to take control of my retail therapy when I got into that shop, as I was like a child in a toy shop with to much to choose from.
The weather was glorious all day and at times to warm. As usual the raffle generated a great buzz around the field with some great prizes on offer.
The show started with the racing first at approximately 12.30

      Congratulations to all above winners.
And Finally, may I take this opportunity to thank the judges and their ring stewards on the day,on behalf of the Keep er Lit Team for a job well done.
Strong Dog Judge : Gareth Barnett
      Lurcher Judge       : Gerard Melaugh
      Whippet Judge      : Colin Maguire
      Terrier Judge         : Martin Breen
      Pets Judge             : Gail Ross
Judging is not an easy job, but you were consistent and fair, and very successful with the end product.
The racing was carried out as usual to perfection by The Mc Grath Racing Club Carlow. These people have many years experience in the Canine world both in showing and racing and their input helps to alleviate the pressure on the show organizer on the day. A job well done Biddy and team.
Some lovely photographs were taken on the day by various people, and no doubt these will be up on the site shortly.
And Finally, Finally, they say behind every good man is a good woman and Leigh Thompson along with Paddy Gibson, you both definitely fitted into that category. Your show was run with impeccable organisation. It was evident on the day a lot of hard work and sleepless nights was put into  this now annual Show. Leigh and Paddy you pulled out all the stops on the day and produced a top class show in a top class venue. Well done and a credit to you both.
I am Looking forward to more of the same in 2026. Thank you for the memories. To we meet again God Bless.
