have you ever seen the arctick survival tips? the one where the guy just ambles over to a rabbit sat there and its literally totally unawares or totally unbothered by it? the guy then waps it with a stick for a 'freeby' dinner.

 

i've done a few times over the years, not on purpose like..but non the less it is actually posable.

 

the two most memerable times, 1'st, with my gun, they hadnt trimmed the hay feild yet, but theres was one or two nibble patchs you could see but couldnt get to from the fense side, the plan being, ahhh well trudge through the grass there, get there asap then sit for the wait..(i dont like the waiting bit much, prefer a good stalk).

 

i'm like yomping like a elefant in hi heels here! and theres a rabbit, like totally unawares, 5 yard head shot! blood everywhere lol.. hmm i thought, dont see that every day, paunched hocked and trundled off like the elefanty again, 20 yards on a 20 yarder, rolled over and looked at me, i'm walking here, and just sat there happily watching..a bottled out on the yompy and head shot!.. ok? paunched and hocked i'm certain there'll be no more for an hour so and promply yomped into number three..blood everywhere as is does that close up lol.

 

no 2 was no gun, but i was sort of trying to regain the funny yompy walk up at the big woods, there was always loads about but they were a bit hot on the running away lark.. after 2 hour i gave it up as bad job, and just yomped off, and there it was a half grown munching away..again knee high grass but in patch's, there was a lotta noise going on, so i though feckit..go for it and just ket walking..2 yards away the thing jumped up and panicked!! i'm stood there laughing thinking 'hu? suprised?? by that that???!' lol.

 

 

to add to the tail the humble fox, i've seen this and it been filmed, they go all playfully weirdo is the only exsplanasion i can think of, jumping n bounding about like a loon, then they flat out a small corn crop curcle and resume the mental dance, pidgions crow..rabbit, what evers about actualy start to watch it, then just come on over to join in, the fox nabs um!! it is one crazy thing to to see.. and no i havent tried it lol..yet!

I had an interesting encounter when I was about 15, my dad and I went to local perm and I set myself up in an old tree sat high up on one of the branches looking down at some scrub land.

 

My dad went off and sat somewhere. Anyway I'm looking down and see a big buck rabbit mooching around about 20 yards away stood up in a thicket of brambles. I took aim and shot him through the head dropping him instantly into the brambles.

 

My dad came over a few minutes later and I told him roughly where it dropped. He went wading through the brambles in the general direction and suddenly delved down and picked up a rabbit by its legs, I watched from my tree and realised it wasn't my rabbit, he said " got it!" the rabbit kicking like mad. I shouted back "that's not it"!

 

In complete amazement my dad just said "oh" and let it go. Very amusing.

I was once Carp fishing when I caught something in the corner of my eye coming towards me in the water,my first thought was Mink but then realised it was a small rabbit.It swam straight over to me and I fished it out with my landing net.I left it on the bank to dry out after which it duly hopped off.

never heard of rabbits doing that archie! seen rats doing it when i was fishing a few years ago, baited them with (if i remember correctly) the cheesy doritos i was eating and then went and got the s410k .. got 5=6 rats but no fish that day LOL

whin - very spiny and dense evergreen shrub with fragrant golden-yellow flowers; common throughout western Europe

 

 

i've near on trod on a few.. comes with ferreting bush's lol...and shooting rabbits out of tree's. (ohhh yes i did lol..and a few others have).

owch..the drowning rabbit was warded off with a paddle? lol...notta pleasent trip being pushed back out to drown..bin there got the wet T shirt...dealt with afterwoulds lol.
