Guest Rabbiteer
Didn't the tendons clog up the holes at all? And how much force did you have to use to turn the handle? In other words, would an old weakling like me be able to do say, 20 rabbits without my arm dropping off? No probs at all with any of the meat or bones being stuck in the mincer. It comes with two differant size plates and the largest is more than suitable. The bones were no problem and snapped like tooth picks with little effort from myself. The blood splatter on the wall is from me putting a little to much energy in to it and I guess the heart just burst like a balloon covering the wall 12" away. 20 rabbits one after the other shouldnt be a problem at all. I will let you know how it works with the fur on but I guess it still wont be a problem. The strips of lamb were tougher to mince. I got it from www.northerntoolUK.com inc postage at about £45. Hope this helps you, Nik Quote Link to post
Guest The Big Fish
NNNNOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwww Dont do it with the fur on Been there and done that, it fecking stinks!! Trust me. Skycat you would be better of getting the electric one in the earlier post I have just ordered one,had one a long time ago brilliant for mincing everything I use to chuck everything in mine add a bit of raw garlic as well cracking grub,I used to bag the food as it was coming out and then seal it bung it straight in the freezer. Frozen meat minces easier especially fat meat Quote Link to post

Right then NO fur on the rabbits as I want it to last for a while. I think you are right an electric one would be the ideal solution but I was a bit concerned about these poofy ones advertised by TV chef's. I was thinking that the motor may braek whilst chewing up some chicken carcasses. All of the mega powerful ones are a few hundred bucks and I didnt have that to spend. As Im going to be sharing it with a mucker it is nice to have a reasonably small unit to move about. Best regards, Nik But I do agree, a nice big electric one would be the best Quote Link to post

skycat 6,174
I've just ordered one: and the reason I want to mince my rabbits and chicken carcases is that way I can mix in their veg etc: not only to do them good but to add a bit of bulk as my dogs are getting soo fat. Their breast of lamb and other bones they can still have whole to amuse them and keep their teeth clean. Quote Link to post

Guest Rabbiteer
I have done a few mods to it just so it fits into my surroundings a bit better. But it work great today again and am really looking forward to mashing up a good sack full of chicken. wishing you all well, Nik Quote Link to post
gnipper 6,755
I'm only after one for the bunnies, the chicken backs and lamb etc I can fit in the freezer but rabbit is a pain in the arse, ever had it when one moves in the freezer and its frozen solid leg is jammed against the shelf above stopping you from opening it How small do you have to chop them to get them in the mincer? The one I put through was in two pieces but after seeing how easy it was I wont be bothering to half it next time. The mincer just dragged it through as if it was made out of paper and shredded it. Look at my pics on page two of this thread and you will see at what happened in less than a minute. Nik Quote Link to post
Guest Rabbiteer
I havent done loads of rabbits but I was around CHALKWARRENS place this afternoon and we managed to mince some Lamb ribs without to many drama's. They just had to be sliced into individual ribs first. Came out looking really top notch. Nik Quote Link to post
MikeTheDog 153
Handy looking mincer that Rabbitear ...How does it cope with chicken carcas's? Quote Link to post

Personaly,....I don't like to smash the lamb ribs /necks about,..it CAN produce dangerous shards of bone which natural knawing and crushing by the dogs powerful jaws should not create... BUT,.for raw 'chucks and conies',..this reasonably priced mincer produces a fabulously palatable 'end product'.. All in all,.for the price,...a top class item... Well done Rabbiteer for giving it a go... All the best to ALL mincers,...cheers,.CHALKWARREN.... Quote Link to post
