Guest The Big Fish
At the moment they've still got their eyes shut I turned the flash off because I didn't want to upset them! Errr, they have thier eyes shut so cant see anything and you turned the flash off incase it upset them Just choose the ones that look like they will enjoy the beach most Failing that, you could always go for the hampshire strain of pure killers Quote Link to post
tornado 0
I would go for the liveliest. But I like them firey lol! Ps its a good idea to feed them before you handle them, I almost lost the top of my pinky once to a ravenous kit! lol! Quote Link to post

Kay 3,709
Personally i wouldnt take a kit under 8 weeks old regardless of how much the breeder sayes there ready, they should all be eating independently ,they should be tazzing round the run , sadly it looks as though these ferrets are in a fish tank but thats another thread They should be bright, alert, hand friendly, pretty much bomb proof if the breeders taken the time to do the job properly, personally i wouldnt take a ferret who didnt look right, make sure theres no sniffles, sneezing going on & have nice clean clear eyes. Lastly they should be plump , not skinny & have nothing other than the normal kit odour about them, check there little bottoms to see if they have had the runs, or worse a prolapse rectum, which coud indicate they may have picked up a bug, . But i hope & prey there not going to be left in that fish tank for another 4 weeks they need to be able explore there surrounding & there not going to be doing that in there Quote Link to post

gibby 0
Not wanting to stir things up but how is a fish tank any different to a hutch if it is as well ventilated and cleaned and is the same dimensions as said hutch? That fish tank could be a further 2 foot longer than what you see in the pic. Dont jump down my throat I wouldnt do it personally but just wondering.. Quote Link to post

Guest MOLLY
The guy is probably doing what he thinks is best for the kits, not everyone has years of experience or knowledge remember. I can see where he is coming from, bring them indoors so he can keep an eye on them. A hutch would make alot of mess so a fish tank keeps the sawdust etc off the floor. I was lucky to have someone i could ask when my jills had their first litters, and even then i was out checking on them 24/7 Not everyone is lucky enough to have info on hand. Stop jumping down ARTEMIS throat because someone was trying to do the best for their animals...save it for someone who clearly is'nt MOLL. Quote Link to post
Guest The Big Fish
@ Moll lets not get ahead of ourselves here, the ferrets/fish are not kept by ARTEMIS and i'm sure when she collects her younglings, they will be well looked after... Quote Link to post
