gnipper 6,761
Any of you use tigers with good results and what's the best way to prepare and use them? Cheers, gnipper 1 Quote Link to post
billybaltic 308
My favourite bait, to prepare them i soak in water for at least 24 hour's, then i bring them to the boil and simmer for 45 min's, i then let the water cool down and put them into a bucket with an airtight lid and leave for at least 5 day's, they are ready to use after cooking but i leave for 5 day's, sometime's 2 week's, they will get a slime on them and the longer you leave them the thicker it will get, the carp love them. As for using them, most rig's will work, but i like 2 nut's on a stiff rig, ring swivel on one end so that it can move, also a combi rig, you can use a cork ball trimmed inbetween 2 nut's as a pop up, only put about 2-3 pouchful's around each hookbait, as they seem to fill the carp, and top up after each fish, i usually use a size 6 hook, the most important thing about them is preparing them, if not done properly they can kill fish, but the way i have told you is how i have done it for year's, if you know were to get them unprepared i would be interested to know, pm if you want, as i can only get them already done this year, and i would rather do my own, so anywhere local would suit me, as you are not far from me, good luck with the tiger's. billybaltic 308
You have done it perfect mate, when your not sure add a bit more time, i have the liquid level with the tiger's and it get's thicker, it start's to look like the are going off, but i think that is when they are best. billybaltic 308
Tiger's are a must have, when targeting carp, they love them, will have to try the coke soak, cheer's for the tip. Quote Link to post
PeakOil 352
Will try the coke tip. I use tigers quite a lot on the canal to put the skimmers off. I soak them for 36 hours to rehydrate the nuts then boil usually for 1 hour and leave for at least a week. A very good, cheap bait that can have an edge on waters battered by boilies. Make sure you prepare them correctly. 1 Quote Link to post
