Stuart1985 256
Evening all Was out this morning for a walk about with my diana 52/48 see what i could bag. I purchased a tin of the polymag pretator .22 Have heard some mixed reviews but i am really inpressed with the grouping on paper so want to try them out. Managed to have a nice bag and the stopping power on both rabbits and ferals pigeons was outstanding. A bit expensive but one of the best pellets i have tried. 7 Rabbits and 6 Feral Pigeons yesterday evening then two this morning All shot at ranges from 35 - 40 yards. Anybody else use these pellets? Phantom 631
I was almost tempted to try them! However at sub 12 they produce much the same results in 'stopping power' as a much cheaper all rounder and thats assuming they are not deformed in anyway. Recover the pellets from the kills and examine the damage to the pellets and the damage to the bone and tissue. A hole is a hole, in killing a living thing, the bigger the hole the better, however the best thing for a switch off is the amount of kinetic energy thats transfered to the Central Nervous System at a given point. Shot placement is far more important than the shape of the pellet. Tony 2 Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
I agree tony i thought they wouldnt do much more damage than my usual pellets .. so not worth the extra cash! Quote Link to post
Stuart1985 256
Tony I belive in exactly what you say, theses will not be used all the time however wanted to try them and see what they were like. placement is key to a good kill With the ability to place pellet at good grouping the user knows his limits as well as rifle and pellet. I love the Diana 52, IMHO best springer ever! 1 Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
I'd like to try them myself one day in my gun's but the cost of them is prohibitive to me. Tony Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
I had a 52 on ticket many years back and it was probably the most pellet fussy gun I've ever owned but by god, it shot accurately with Crossman Premiers. I've still got one now in .177 and I agree about them being a first class springer. They're very under rated IMO Quote Link to post
woodcote1 88
I had a 48 and it was great, i loved the handling and found the sidelever great to use. Where did you get the pellets ? Quote Link to post
