thedogman199 51
Just go in, hand over £1 and say I would like to set up a savings account! They open it up, you then have an account people can pay into, but only you can withdraw money from. With a savings account no standing orders or direct debits can be set up on it! Safe you see. People can pay in anywhere there is a branch and if they pay cash it appears same day, else they can transfer money in like into a current account, but it can take up to 3 days to appear that way. Works brilliantly, no fees, percentages skimmed off, nothing like that and no lock up for months whilst they sit around with their fingers up their backsides either! Cheers pal will be on to that tomorrow, realy had enough of paypal and there is just no point talking to them as they just read what is on the screen in front of there chinky little eyes, I had sold a item for 60 and as I got proof of postage I thought I would be ok but I've got a horrible feeling I'm goin to get stung as I have asked for feedback but now ignoring my msgs, just waiting now for paypal to grace me with MY money!!!!!! MoChara 1,632
Hi all not moaning hear however I just want to inform people or the almost criminality of some of paypals actions and to warn others who may fall in to the trap whilst selling on ebay, ebay has done nothing wrong in my issue, paypal however has levels of incomprehensible bad service from a multi national company, for example placing 21 day holds on accounts unjustifiable, inaccuracies in policies, blatantly luring customers in to contract changes with clever wording and the most worrisome of it all you can't do anything about it as there complaint procedures are nill and void, I am in the process of contacting the financial services authority and as many newspapers who will listen to me , for those of you who have been affected by paypals actions please feel free to get in contact with me for those of you who haven't your very lucky!!!! Atb i must be one of the lucky ones then as ive never had a problem with any transaction and ive done 1000`s I will second that - my ma's never off ebay either (she is addicted lol) never once had a problem, bar the odd person not paying when they buy something ( as in changing their mind)
scothunter 12,609
If I trust then I usually just send cash in a registered envelope, guaranteed! Or just get thier account and sort code transfer it straight into thier account.
secretagentmole 1,701
The thing is scothunter, if you use your main account, people can use the information they used to pay you to set up direct debits/standing orders for things like cars, insurance, anything! It has happened (even to one Jeremy Clarkson). That is why I recommended opening a deposit or savings account, because then they cannot use your name, address and account information to setup direct debits or standing orders on your account.
