I do like that idea, with a grid in the middle.

 

Daft question but how do you slope a cement base? Sheets of plywood on top when it's drying?

 

Do you have to deal the cement after?

you slope the concrete as your laying it... easiest way is slope your screeds (the timbers that you use while laying concrete) and use them as a guide while your tamping it ... im sure if your laying concrete some one who knows what there doing off here would give you a hand

If your hand batching concrete use 10 mil gravel or 10 mil ballast which is sand and gravel mix then just add your OPC (cement) and water easier to work with do your drainage then plastic sheet then your mix any queries just ask atb with it

Why plastic sheet it? Genuine question only done a little concreteing but never plastic sheeted first always been layed on blinding

It just keeps all the mixter together as water will soak down in to the hard core and make it weaker , it just makes it bond better rely , it's just spek if your doing garage floors it can be about 60 to 80 pound a roll don't be a cheep skate and do it right ) atb

Must add if you do put polythene down lay it and keep it up at the side the depth of you concrete you can cut it off just below your finished level when your doing your floating .
