genes --- alot of people will tell you no such thing as a white lakeland if its from 2 blk n tans and its white its a russell -- .

a white from black and tan parents is a russell then

friend you call it what ever you want but the white didnt appear out of the blue id call it a russel mate at the end of the day every one has there own opinion if you dont like it you dont like it

i bred a red lakeland bitch off gm bac to a black an tan stud dog of gm's an among the pups was a dog pup which was black an tan, but had long white guard hairs all over

what go`s in comes out -- all i`d say is how can you call a white un from blk n tan parents a russell surely its gotta be a lakeland a white one

What makes a White dog,a white Lakeland,as opposed to a broken coat Russell?Im not sure I worded it right.But when does a white dog(& Why),does it become classified as a Lakeland?

 

Im sure I could be very wrong,but in my mind,if a mating between a Black & Tan Lakeland to a Red Lakeland(both being down from generations of the same) had 7 pups,and 6 were colored as the parents,but the 7 th was white,that would be a White Lakeland.

 

Otherwise,it would be like 2 Russells,down from the same for generations mated and produced a litter of white,and white w/patches consistent with Russells,produced one solid colored pup,calling it a Lakeland or Patterdale.

 

I appreciate any help on the matter,i have just always wondered what makes a white lakeland,a white lakeland?
