Hob&Jill 258
Thinking of getting myself an acoustic guitar and having a few lessons. I had a few lessons when I was younger but my heart was never in it, my dad was more keen for me to play than I was . Anyway, it seems more appealing now for some reason. Anyone here play? Any general advice or thoughts? HJ

NEWKID 29,047
Play a bit..... Been in a band for 15 years or so not a great guitarist but can strum a tune. We played some good gigs few years back, guilfest ( played at the same time as the stranglers were on the main stage), the carling academy in bristol, the anson rooms etc I loved it we still play a bit but can't dedicate the time like we used to..... I would recommend you to pick a half decent acoustic there will be some decent second hand deals, go to your local music shop ask advice from them, if you can play a little strum a few in the shop see what you like and then shop around..... Don't go cheap and nasty they play like crap and if you don't keep playing are worthless when you want to sale, a half decent guitar second hand shouldn't lose any value..... Then it's just practice till your hand hurts and then a bit..... Good luck mate
