Buzzard snatching osprey chick

Recommended Posts

You see that's what annoys me about shooters, you aren't like us lurcherman. We are hunters, one with nature, work with nature. Whereas shooters want to control everything. You buy eggs, raise tame birds under nets, shoot tame birds. You have to burn the heather, kill anything that is a threat to your tame birds even if it's a rare golden eagle. It's all false and could be done indoors. You aren't hunters or naturalists your just interested in shooting anything legal or otherwise :)

ill reply to this before i read the rest of the thread!!!!!!

for once baw i agree 100% with you,,, :D i grew up with game shooting and was going beating every Saturday from 7 yrs old!! loved every minute and then went to collage to do a yrs gamekeeping course and got to see the REAL side of it, which basically is its just a business where the lives of any animal is meaningless if it interferes with a precious fecking pheasant,,,, :icon_redface: also i love how its perfectly ok to shoot deer and hares by them but you a poaching scumbag who needs reporting to the police if you run one with a dog.... :bad: i wonder how many lurchermen have rang the police on shooters over a dangerous shot they have witnessed.... :hmm: :hmm:

EDITED TO ADD.... only on about big commercial shoots NOT small rough shooting syndicates as to me thats where shooting should reach its peak...JMO...

Vermin control................a large part of being a Keeper. Sounds like you made the right choice and got out....dont think you could have hacked it anyway...... :whistling::D

ohh dan put your claws away!!!!! i had to leave the country mate!!! whats labs excuse.. :whistling: no telling porkies now lab, ive still got the PM you sent me.....:D

My excuse? :hmm: I think you'll find i phoned Dan and spoke too him, did you.... :whistling: I was taking my Lab down for it to be shown "how its done" by a bull x wasn't i but that bullx wasn't going to be there unless it was going itself........ :icon_redface:

As it happened i'm glad you pulled out cause the girls Grandad was on his last legs at the time and going away down there would have been bad timing but i was still willing to go... I said to Dan that this year is a defo.......going to go down to one of his shoot days and pick up......I did promise not to embarress the English dogs though........ :whistling:

if you watch it closely it was not an oppertunistic attack ....you can see the osprey sees the buzzard coming ...then it leaves the nest and when the buzzard lifts the chick you ca n see at the top of

speaking as a man who had birds tied up all day i think most expierenced falconers will tell you the same thing, whilst looking like any other BOP buzzards are infact more akin to rats and cockroache

Just watched it Not surprised in the sightest. This will lead to crys to control them but nothing will happen The facility to control Buzzards has been in place for years, but NO licenses have been
