i dont think walking any dog for two or three hours would do it any harm if you are taking them where there no quarry for them to chase or not much about .....its when theres alot of quarry about they push themselves to hard and you can burn a dog out easily that does em no good not in warm weather thats for sure ...i take mine walks near water when it warm river lake ect....we have all got spots where there isnt much game and thats where they should be going most of the time after they have had a run about they they usally walk by your side if they have nothing to chase ......the dogs soon tier in warm weather dont let them push themseleves and all should be fine ;)

when Gyp was a year old, we were roadwalking for up to 20+ miles a week, a few miles before work on weekdays, then on a sunday we'd walk the 4 miles to a friends house to get a lift to the pub, and then 4 miles back from theirs a few hours later. plus he had an hour or so each day pottering about on the fields here. it did him no harm whatsoever, and turned him into a fantastically fit creature for the winter. f****d my knee right up though

Gyp at 16 months... :D

Dogs bones can be developing up to 18mth old, so really no allnighters till after then. Dogs may look ok now after loads of exercise to early, its later on they show the signs.

same situation as you, ma pups a year old now hiking along the coast every day and loads of rabbits about again, hope they still thriving in september! Anyway walking the hard sand on the tide line for obvious reasons also to avoid too many chases on rabbit although ma pups caught 6 daytime rabbits already mainly by pouncing on them in the reeds. keep walking them do you good to, feckin killing me sore tendons in legs !
