Pups legs

Right my pup is a saluki x grey he's 7 week I had him at the vet on Friday for his first injection and health check , I noticed his FRONT legs look odd his feet appeared to be pointing in and he seemed to be walking on the outsides of his feet, the vet said may be knuckling over and said most grow out of it just put him on a good brand dry puppy mix but I don't think that will do much .

 

Just wondering what exsperiance people have had with knuckling over and what are the signs of it and what to do about it. Will the pup be ok later in life or will this affect him .

Your vet is probably right. Theres been a few posts over the years with saluki types having this problem, something to do with protein, and with the correct diet, theres a good chance they will grow out of it.

Hopefully should I put him on a low protein diet to slow growth to help correct it.

I fed mine redmills racer 27% but then changed to redmills tracker which was 20% and it straightened out ok

from what ive read on the doberman and greatdane forums they suggest putting onto a lower protien adult diet with the addition of a vitimin c suppliment
