BS40liam 203
A previous post had me looking for possible ferrets in my area as my ferret was on its last legs but yet no luck. An oppertunity came my way today for some 100acres of permision in which the 2 farmers (brothers) offered to me as they saw in the past I had a lurcher once being caught by one of them poaching on there land! He was quite forgiving as I was only young and was just after arabbit to feed my ferrets....any way today they offered me the permision to which I jumped at the chance!! They have plenty of rabbits untouched as there isn't a lot of people if anybody, who hunts around me. I was asked to come back later in the week to be shown around and to be shown where the hot spots are. So great on my arrival home I check that all my nets we're up to gether and phone a mate about the permision and if he wanted to join me on the terms he brings his longnets. On that I thought I must check on the ferret to which opening the shed door found him motionless on the floor! SH*t he's dead! What can I do now? No ferret and a lot of garenteed permision. No ferrets available to me and none to borrow. So all I'm equiped with is a 12week old bedlington whippet and aload of nets! I realy want this permision but can't just not turn up or turn up with no ferret! So on That I'm in a bit of a pickle! Any sugestions welcombed and thanks for reading. Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,926
Sorry to hear about your ferret , There is a lad on here called Bristol Tim he might be up for a meet up Quote Link to post
patterdalejoel 669
just explain to the farmer, im sure he will understand, if no one around you hunts you will have little competition for the permission. or ask someone else with a ferret along to help you out while you get another ferret brought in. derbylad1 293
offer to take someone ferreting on your permision from this site, loads wil jump at the chance. hat off to ya mate, for ferreting at this time of year. Quote Link to post
BS40liam 203
thanks for the replys peeps. Derbylad I'm only going to go one or twice just to figure the place out and just so the farmer gets to no me a little before the season starts up again. I can buy ferrets from the garden centre but they charge 35 quid per ferret in which I'm not paying that for one and its not even from working stock! Quote Link to post

Vin-lovely offer lol. Iwent back into the farm not more than an hour ago and just explained the situation with my ferret and that its out of season so not a good idea probably. And he was fine and told me to come back along middle of september Quote Link to post
