@lab,ask rocky1 you mug not all of us have parents that buy us business' etc

@kay i'm registed self-employed , when I'm out of work I just get my stamp paid I dont recive job seekers allowence.

I am self-employed and classed as running my own company how would they know what your earning's are for them to work out how much they owe without ye having to go through all the paperwork and just sending ye a figure they usualy base something on last years earning's and if they have took it of last years earning's and ye had a poor year and the following year ye put in a better tax return they will just take it of ye like somebody said there is always a catch and i cant understand how they have just sent you it and have your bank details if your self-employed,if ye had been on the book's with the same firm for years it would be highly unlikly

Exactly hedz

you can only work for the same employer for i think is 6 months other wise your classed as on the books , but there are ways around it

Yeah it's very easy and it is not really hard enforced if you are self-employed and have been working for the same company for a certain period of time ye could claim holiday pay and get it back dated  when you are registered as a company and sub-contracting labour it is different though and there is also ways around paying tax on labour all ye do is write supply and fit onto ye invoice

Hats off to you lads who do work for your selves, my ex was self employed for a few years & what a ball ache that was , draws full of bits of paper , not knowing from one week to the next if there was any money to bring home , bloody nightmare it was

i know the feeling , it would take about two months to get your invoice money, but you had to pay the workers every week. the arguments it caused. now im sat behind a monitor awaiting a hip replacement . im getting depressed as there just messing me around

I hope you get a date for your hip, my friends husband had one last year , within 6 months of the operation & the physcio after he was back on his earth mover at the quarry he works at , you seriously woulodnt know he had been almost crippled 12 months previous

im only 33 kay and the pain is unbearable , i can only do certain things, very frustrating , played alot of rugby what really hasnt helped and is more the cause, im still waiting for a dermatology test , been nearly three weeks when i was cancelled just before i was about to go into theatre. i aint having much luck at the moment :censored:

I 've never been on the books with any company for the last 5years, I've had about 3months working for an agency then the rest has been my jobs (domestic work).

I dont know why HMRC have my account details but to be perfectly honest I couldn't give two shits i've worked hard while people sit at home milk the country by having kids giving it "i cant work because I'm a single parent" so f**k it. If it turns out i'm not owed It I will pay it back.

They must have your details if you have sent in tax returns

but I never sent in my bank details when filling in my tax returns kay :hmm: .

when you first register self employed , you register as a name or company name , on your first year of earnings you will get a rebate guareenteed and you give them your bank details to pay into.

who does your book keeping , have you got an accountant

I do my own book keeping.

you say you been self employed for five years, and if your saying you have not give them your bank details , that means you have never had a rebate , which is impossible after your first year of self employed work , may be this is what your getting now , but i would go and give your books to an accountant and get on top of it . nothing worst having a financial surprise in the tax mans favour

you didn't just get an email saying 'you are owed £2k, send us your bank details and we will send it straight away!' did you? :whistling: That would really make my day, I can only feel good about myself when others are worse off.
