had a phone call off the village i ferret saying they had a problem so i popped up about 7pm last night knowing there was a full moon if needed to carry on for a few hours. after having mixy in this area i was full of reluctance to go. arrived in the fields and bolted a fair few but they were not more than a mouthful in size and you would need four four a decent dinner!.the plus side was that not one rabbit showed any signs of mixy as of yet which is a bonus especially as the weather up here has been stonking hot the peed down for the last week or so. the rabbit sets have defiantly increased in size since last year so it looks like come September there will be alot of bunnies up there to have a go at. never mind gave the dog a good run out and Fred the ferret went and stretched his legs ( cracking hob i got a year ago) and a sunday dinner out of it roll on the right time of year

had a good laugh at 11pm watching the poachers lamping and trying to avoid me like the plague wish i has a pair of night vision goggles then i could play 'spot the poacher' while i was waiting lol

Right you're not new to this place, so why is there a problem?

Has it impossible vast areas, (strongholds) that are impossible to ferret all times of the year?

The neighbouring areas keep filling your cleared spots up?

Mixy stops you putting the effort in?

Or you dont get out enough during the season?

If you want a big hat for killing baby rabbits off, then you wont get any positive comments from me.

Get out at the right time of year, do your job right (that includes digging the ones that your ferret, yes the one that you are going to get rid of because it has killed down.) and clear the ground until breeding season starts.

Then get back out in September and hit them hard again.

If anyone has a problem with seeing the odd rabbit, then tell them to go and kill the babies themselves out of season.

Come September you will have a lot to go at.

Wonder why.
