Mitchell Thompsett 7
Hi guys. Need some help with something, I'm getting a new PCP and don't really know much about the dive bottle situation. Do I get 232bar/300bar, what's the difference? What litre Should I get? What sort of prices should I be looking at, and any good places to get one? Probs gonna get an air arms s200 mk2/3 Any advice would be greatly appreciated Cheers, Mitch Edited May 25, 2012 by Mitchell Thompsett Quote Link to post
hugo1 31
nothing much apart from you get a load more fills from a 300bar than a 232b i paid £179 for a 3litre 300b bottle only need a 3litre nice and light compared to the bigger bottles and the s200 are great guns Quote Link to post

Mitchell Thompsett 7
Cheers guys. How many fills would you get from a 300bar 3 litre approx? And so I could just take my gun to sportsmans gun centre and have it filled? Might be an idea! cheers guys Quote Link to post
neil82 1,088
there are formulas available to calculate fills, but take it from me, an s200 in either 177 or 22 will not use up a 11l 300 bar fill in twelve months unless your going to shoot over 10,000 pellets a year, if you`ve yet to buy a bottle then the only thing i can reccomend is buy the biggest you can afford, lasts longer and makes the hassle of getting it refilled a bit easier to handle Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Going to the gunshop EVERY TIME you need to get your gun filled wouldnt be the best idea pal. especially with an s200 when you only get 60- shots. 300 bar, biggest bottle you could afford would be best bet. no idea on price tho havent had PCP for a few years have you thought about a pump? Mitchell Thompsett 7
Yer thought about a pump but someone I know had one and said it was a nightmare! Ages to pump up and hard work! Lol Tried a calculation on the net and it said I could get approx 15 fills from a 300 bar 3 litre bottle so might just get that? Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
I pump my huntsman up, I never let it go below 100bar and it takes about a minute to pump it up to 220bar. It's not hard, nor does it take ages, far more cost effective Quote Link to post
Mitchell Thompsett 7
Is 100 bar the sort of level at which the pellets start dropping and losing power? In that case I'll look at some pumps, any recommendations? Cheers, Mitch Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
15 fills??! surely you would get more than that? and pumping isnt that much hard work.. dont be a pussy lol + yehh your gun will have a ''sweet spot'' where it will be most consistent and powerfull. then after that it starts dropping.. still useable tho for a few 10-20 shots or so? best to keep it at least half-quarter full at all times tho to not cause damage to the air cylinder? Might be an idea! cheers guys There is no exact answer to the question of fills, as it depends how low the pressure gets to in the gun. If it's not regged, there is no point in filling over the "sweetspot" Quote Link to post

robwelsh 354
It damages seals etc I been told..my gun starts to drop off around 110-120, so there's no point shooting past it anyway..an that way there's always air in it, get a pump an a dry pack..u be sorted then Quote Link to post
silentshot1 206
A non regged S200 cylinder is about the same size as my S410 TDR cylinder. 40 odd shots in the sweetspot, about 35 pumps with my hills pump to return to top of hotspot, second hand pump £70.00, no refill hassles!
