PlasticJock 539
I'm tempted to save a bit of cash by buying a decent second hand action and a brand new stock, and fitting it myself. Has anyone done this, and is it easy? Or should I listen to my head and let a gunsmith do it? Quote Link to post

jackinbox99 41
I replaced a stock myself on a double barrel .410 ive got. The old one was severely damaged by the previous owner and beyond repair. So, I got a similar sized stock and then had to carve it out to fit the .410 action. I have to say it took me a fair old while - especially as i didnt want to over do it and waste the stock. But I took my time and the end result was actually better than I expected. Its not 100% as the replacement stock I used wasnt the same as the original, but its breathed new life into what was nearly a scrap gun. Quote Link to post
