jmj121 30
Hi Guys, Im thinking about applying for FAC posibly for a .22 rim. I have been vermin shooting on a livery yard for 4 years, with a <12fp PCP airrifle and not i think its time to upgrade ! never having a FAC before what do you guys suggest ? how hard would it be to get a FAC, in the BUCKINGHAM area ? The problem is that for the last year or so the land has seen increasing bunnies, and as there are horses on the land. its important to keep the numbers down. The land is about 100 acres and the land owner is happy for me to control the bunnie population. As i have been there for 4 years as an owner of horses. So fully undertand how the yard works and respect the horses ( we have had problems brining in other guys to control the bunnies, and they have not respected the horses on the yard) I was thinking about a 22LR Rifle & .22LR Sound Moderator what can you guys suggest, i will be contacting the FLO for advise ASAP. Thanks Jason Quote Link to post

jmj121 30
Yea, thats also a consideration... Very true ! What are FAC Air like ? what sort of killing distance can you expect ? i also expect that the FLO, would favor a FAC Air more as a first application ? Quote Link to post

paulus 26
what about a moderated RIM ? and noise level ??? 22lr quieter than fac air, hmr gives a good crack Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
or another HW100 FAC version - less to get used to as you've already got a sub 12er. I've shot around horses in paddocks a bit with rimmie and been fine with no issues, but obviously you have to be very aware of where the horses are at all times. I'd say go for both FAC air and .22lr, the worse they can say is no. In our area (TVP) they've started asking for new rimmie fac applicants to go out with a short term mentor to gain at least a bit of practical experience before they will grant an fac. I don't think this is exactly legal on their part, but I'm 'mentoring' someone else from N Bucks on monday with rimmie and hmr. Then I have to write a statement to describe the outcome and my opinion of their shooting safety knowledge. Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
what about a moderated RIM ? and noise level ??? I've got an HW100 and a .22lr HW60J - the rimmie to me (and lamping pard) is quieter. Quote Link to post
jmj121 30
Ok, so now im well confused..... I understand the ricochet argument, BUT want to be able to have distance... But noise, is a major factor...... Quote Link to post
jmj121 30
Sounds like TVP are asking for mentor's before they consider a FAC, but how on earth do you find one ? or do they have a list of people....... Quote Link to post
