First Rounds of the Terrier and Lurcher events get underway at Kelmarsh!

The Terrier and Lurcher events attract a huge number of dog enthusiasts year on year, and kick-starting the Champion of Champions for 2012, the Kelmarsh Country Fair once again welcomed the UK’s best earth and running dogs to the field.

 

Organised by the Coursing Crew, this year’s competition produced some exhilarating displays with the two-day event seeing terrier and lurcher handlers battle it out in both field and showing classes for qualifying places. Overseeing the competition, Chris Weaver expresses her delight at the continued interest in a great championship: “The weekend was a real success, and despite the mixed weather we had some impressive performances from all who took part. Both the field and showing classes saw a great deal of interest, and we now have a confirmed list of those who will go through to the Grand Final at this year’s Midland Game Fair; we look forward to seeing what happens next.”

 

The next set of terrier and lurcher events take place at the Highclere Country Fair over 26^th and 27^th May 2012. Here are the results from both Saturday and Sunday of the Terrier and Lurcher events at the 2012 Kelmarsh Country Fair:
